2018 Ford F-150 Details

Considerable attention has been focused on the powertrain lineup in the 2018 Ford F-150. A new direct-injected 3.3-liter V6 engine replaces the previous 3.5-liter V6, and is expected to produce the same horsepower and torque as the previous engine all while consuming less fuel. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine has also been updated. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 continues for 2018, and the 5.0-liter V8 engine has been revised with improvements in horsepower and torque.

The biggest change for the 2018 Ford F-150 is the diesel engine. Ford is finally joining the ranks of the half-ton diesels with the new turbocharged 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel V6 engine. The new engine will be mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the diesel engine, drivers can look forward to new Ford trucks with a hybrid engine which Ford plans to roll out in a few years.
